Everyone wants to know the secret behind creating a beautiful fall mantel. Today I am here to share with you how simple achieving a beautiful fall mantel can be in three easy steps.
Step 1 – Select your fall mantel materials
- Use materials that inspire the feeling of fall.
- Pumpkins are the main fall mantel style point for this mantel. I added textures by mixing antique heirloom variety pumpkins that can be found at your local nursery and velvet pumpkins in gray, cream and taupe that can be found in my shop sources or in the tool bar below.
- Keeping a natural fresh look for your fall mantel style, pick a greenery to compliment your pumpkins. I chose a faux eucalyptus. For more inspiration click here to see how I uses eucalyptus on my beautiful fall table setting.
Step 2 – Layout your fall mantel
- With materials chosen, begin placing your layers on your fall mantel. Start with the rule of three, style one of each textured element together. For example, one real pumpkin, one velvet and eucalyptus. Keep in mind styling in groups of various sizes of three as well.
- Place heavy objects first so you can anchor your fall mantel with the correct amount of size and weight to each area styled.
- Add height – When thinking about how I could lift my pumpkins, I knew I would need something sturdy. I found a set of three decorative wood cake stands from Rod Works in Draper Utah that were perfect for the job.
- Step back, evaluate your fall mantel progress, and repeat step 2 until you find the right balance. It usually takes me about three times before I have it just right.
Step 3 – Sit back and enjoy your beautiful yet simple fall mantel
- Fall is about gathering in doors as the temperatures start to drop. A beautiful simple fall mantle, will be the perfect back drop to enjoy while visiting with family and friends.
- Don’t forget to add subtle touches of fall throughout your room to tie your new beautiful fall mantel, like this Thankful pillow or my dough bowl filled with velvet pumpkins.
- Have fun! Decorating and enjoying your home should be fun. Channel your creativity and let it flow. Your style and design is unique to you. Do what you love and love what you do.
